Tips on putting up a tennis court

Planning to put up a tennis court this year. Gonna go with a concrete slab and use one of those surface kits to smooth it out. The land's pretty flat up here in Louisiana, but drainage where I'm at isn't that great and I'm worried this will be a headache when winter comes. Anyone know what kind of prep I should do so the slab doesn't crack or shift?

The surface musn't be completely level, so you're looking at a small grade. Yes, tennis course have grades, don't ask me how I know this information. You should dig below the surface and compact the base and then add a few inches of gravel and then add the slab above it. A drainage system around the courst is also a good idea, French drains can do a good job here.

Real, drainage is the biggest issue for concrete slabs anywhere, you have to do a solid base prep with at least 4 to 6 inches of compacted gravel or crushed stone underneath to help water drain away then, add a slight slope or install perimeter drains if possible to keep water from pooling near the slab edges and definitely use control joints
