I know most of us here lean concrete, but I've had a couple of clients lately ask about asphalt driveways instead and its mostly for long rural runs where budget is tight but what kind of per-square foot rates are people seeing out there for asphalt these days, including prep and finish. Not really looking to switch teams, but it'd be helpful to have a ballpark to compare when customers start price matching. Any recent bids or trends you've noticed would be appreciated.

If your clients are looking for something budget-friendly, checking for mistinted or surplus material from suppliers might shave off some costs.

Lately, asphalt driveway prices I've seen run about $6 to $9 per square foot, including prep and finishing, longer rural runs and budget wise it's usually cheaper than concrete but still depends on site work and material quality
