Cement vs asphalt driveway

My husband and I are moving to a new home. It's newly built with a dirt driveway. I think a cement driveway would give our space more character but he said he prefers asphalt. So yeah, we're taking it to you guys to decide (HAHAHA now that's fun and yes, he knows I'm here!) Which do you recommend between cement asphalt and tell us why!

Haha, love the debate cement looks sharper and lasts longer, but it can crack if you're not careful. Asphalt's cheaper and easier to fix, but needs some upkeep. If it were me, I'd go with whatever keeps the peace, but cement does have that sleek look.
