My uncle is thinking about having fiber optic tops for his kitchen. He only wants the island that has fiber optics, though. I know it depends on the size, but can someone give me the rough cost for this? Any comments would be appreciated

That sound like a cool idea! I haven't thought of that but to answer your question, this can range from a few hundred to thousand dollars, depending on the size and you're uncle may also want to consider the price for a fiber optic kit and the labor to install it. Hope this helps!

It's a pricey project just to clear things out. It can range from 2000 - 5000 dollars just for the island, depending on the lightning, size and material. But if your uncle can afford it it's definitely worth it for a showstopper piece.

Giving you a rough cost based only on what I know and what the costs are in my area. So the fiber optic kit is around $400 depending on the strand count and the quality but the high end ones are at $600. Then for the countertop with embedded fibers, it costs around $150 per sq. ft. So for just the top usually it's around $4000 already? Then labor is around $1k. Ask your uncle if he's ready for that cost. There may be additional electrical needs at around $500 to work with an electrician.
