Can anyone throw in some tips for milling around curbs and manholes? Right now, we're using jackhammers to remove leftover asphalt the machine can't reach especially at start/stop points where the cut ain't a clean vertical drop. I'm positive a machine that costs this much should handle the full job without all the extra manual work.

Yeah, those extra cutting around the curbs and manholes is annoying! do you have a smaller machine that you can use? Also, making sure your cutters are sharp can help.

you can check your machine's manual too!

You're right, a good milling machine should handle most of that, you can try adjusting the depth and alignment to get a cleaner cut and for tricky spots, a curb cutter or a skid steer with a milling attachment could help reduce manual work

I had the same thing happen when milling around manholes, the machine just wasn't cutting it, so we grabbed a skid steer with a milling attachment. It totally saved our butts and made the job way smoother

Great choice. Those skid steer millers really come in handy in small spaces. It's frustrating when a machine can't handle the job. What were you using before you made the switch?
