Concrete slab for shed

planning a small 12ftx15ft shed slab. Shed will be light more or less about 200lbs. Did a little bit of research and now my question here is do I really need crushed stone underneath? by the way, I got no issues regarding water at all. I have some 1"-1.5" stone leftover, can i use that, or does size matter at all? And is rebar or wire mesh necessary for this? Just trying to figure out the essentials for now.

I would most likely dug it out a bit, add gravel and rebar. im no expert so we can wait for the other member's insights

Then it's not 100% needed but it still helps. This is gonna improve stabiltity and even prevent shifting you know. The leftover stone is too large and won't really compact well! Definitely the gravel is still the way to go.

@coldst0ne yup! it's better to remove the stones and crush it, so that it'll be more stable

Using leftover stone is a good idea, and you don't really need rebar or mesh for a very light shed.

Size does matter, your 1"-1.5" will eventually do the job but for a better compaction you'll need smaller crushed stones. large ones won't compact very tightly

if you want to add an extra layer of protection against cracking down the line which can happen due to ground movement or temperature changes, add wire mesh on top of your gravel before pouring concrete
