Moisture while flooring

how do you check for moisture before flooring? is there a way to see if there is some moisture underneath?

you can try a plastic sheet test by taping a plastic sheet to the floor and leaving it for about 24 to 48 hours, if you see condensation or dampness, there's moisture underneath. A moisture meter is another option; it measures the moisture level in the subfloor and helps determine if it's safe for flooring.
